The big thing in Des Moines today has been the 40 mph. winds that have been blowing since early since this morning. We have had worse wind storms around here, but this one has been irritating. A couple of bridges closed to traffic, and some light poles down, and some power outages. But it has been warm all day and the sky is clear. What we need is moisture--snow or rain. Supposedly Feb. is going to be very snowy. Next week is Groundhog Day. Phil will get drug out of his tree and see his shadow or not--and then spring will be on the way.
Aerosmith is coming to town on March 23 for a big concert.
Neil Diamond is 65 today.
Gerald Ford is back in the hospital, with pneunomia again. I hope he gets well. Gerry Ford is one of my most-admired presidents.
If Alito is as horrible a judge as the Democrats say he is, and he really wants to destroy all American liberties, why did the judiciary committee approve him being a federal judge in the first place? (I asked the same question about Roberts.)
Kanye West is now comparing his "suffering" to the suffering of Jesus; Kanye did not win the Grammy he thought he deserved, and Joel Stein has an essay in the LA Times saying why he does not "support the troops." And CBS let 2 1/2 Men last night get on the air with some over the top masturbation jokes. Welcome to the 21st century, I guess. And Jason Lee, who plays Earl, is down sick with chicken pox-after shaking hands with everybody at the Golden Globes.
Greta is doing new news on Natalie, and George Smith-the missing bridegroom from the cruise ship.
This will be all for right now. It is now 9:35 p.m. Di di mau!
